Join us and many others who have come to beautiful Pagosa Springs to enjoy the natural splendor of the Weminuche Wilderness and San Juan Mountains, to Ski Wolf Creek with the "most snow" in Colorado (over 400in during 2010-2011 season) and to relax in the healing waters of the hot springs.
Pagosa Home of Warmth & Light is a lovely vacation rental home and can be yours to enjoy any of these activities or to create your own memorable getaway. Conveniently located in uptown Pagosa Springs with stunning mountain & lake views, this 3bedroom/2bath home comfortably sleeps 5-9.
The home is artfully decorated, with a fully-appointed kitchen and a dining room that can be arranged to accommodate anywhere from 2 to 8 persons. Upstairs you'll find a relaxing sunroom where you can take in spectacular views or settle in with a favorite book.
The 3 bedrooms include a king, a queen and a twin bed, and together the livingroom and sunroom have 3 additional futons, including one queen and two chaise twins. The beds are either aspen log or oak 4-post framed with pillowtop mattresses, and the futons are all completed with plush 8-inch thick mattresses. All sleeping arrangements are finished with high-quality linens, including down comforters, fleece blankets, and quilts, and either flannel or sateen sheets depending on the season.
Throughout the house are additional fine touches for your relaxation, enjoyment and comfort, including both central heating plus the charm of a wood-burning stove & large back deck furnished with a gas BBQ, patio dining set & 2-3 person swing. We have also included smaller details, such as CD alarm clocks in the 2 largest bedrooms, a stereo/CD player (all CD players are Ipod compatible) & a small library in the sunroom, and a selection of games . We recently added free high-speed Wi-Fi for those who must bring their computers along--please inquire if you plan to use this option. An attached 2-car garage with remote control is also available for your use.
The home is situated across the street from Lake Forest in a quiet neighborhood. The lake is well-suited for fishing, canoeing, or strolls along the shore where one can see abundant fish and bird life. On at least 300 days each year the sun shines, where from several rooms in the house one has mountain views to the north of Pagosa Peak and the Weminuche Range, of the South San Juan Range to the east, and vibrant sunsets to the west.
You can also rest knowing that the home has been upgraded with sustainable options throughout. From efficient light fixtures in every room to purchasing carbon offsets to balance the energy consumed in the home (and then some), from top-of-the-line insulation to an on-demand water heater & water saving devices, from composting to landscaping with drought tolerant southwest native grasses and wildflowers, from furnishing with American hardwoods obtained from local businesses and choosing linens made from sustainable & organic fabrics, you can feel comfort in the knowledge that you are supporting green choices.
Of course, Pagosa Springs is known for its access to a wide variety of activities. For more information, just click on the link, ACTIVITIES, to your upper left. For possible local necessities, please also see the link, LOCAL INFO, above & left.
